Great Barrier Reef
Earl Nightingale a great communicator in the twentieth century tells of his visit to the Great Barrier reef. He wondered why was it that the coral on one side was amazing and beautiful and on the other side it was kind of dead and lifeless? What he learned was that the coral only grew when challenged and on the lagoon side where it was super calm, it looked like it was dead with no vibrancy. But on the ocean side where it got pummeled all day long it was vibrant and beautifully alive, we too can be nourished by our challenges to really come alive and shine. In the Apostle Peter first letter he gives this idea, ‘And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.’ Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
