Compassionate alarm clock
Anytime we are stressed rather than suffer our suffering, realise that the fear that starts it is a compassionate alarm clock waking us up to the work we have to do. Byron Katie says “It is easy to be swept away by some overwhelming feeling, so it’s helpful to remember that any stressful feeling is like a compassionate alarm clock that says, “You’re caught in the dream.” The alarm wakes us up to where we have some unresolved issues, it wakes us up to life so that we can become the person God meant us to be. When we see fear as a compassionate alarm clock it can be a force that gives life meaning. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
