Stretch Risk Die
Everyday I create a to do list and I say to myself, ‘this I’ve gotta do, and that I’ve gotta make happen.’ I put my list of ten things together and at the end of the day I say to myself I did 1 skipped 2, I did 3, skipped, 5, 6 and 7 did 8 and 9, and skipped 10. The reason I skipped 2, 5,6,7, and 10 is that there is an emotional component that I was not recognising, fear in the background. The question was whether fear would let me do those things today. I think it would be helpful if we put stretch, risk and die next to the items on our list.
Stretch – the things you know you can do that you haven’t done.
Risk – I don’t know if I can do it,
Die – I am never going to do that, this is not going to happen on my watch!
When you take a stretch give yourself a credit. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
