Microwave Christianity

The phrase Allopathic medicine is used as term to describe mainstream medical use of pharmacologically active agents or physical interventions to treat, eradicate or suppress symptoms or pathophysiologic processes of diseases or conditions. Medical practice is now beginning to take an Integrated approach which includes psychological emotional and in some cases spiritual. A GP will often ask about family history, refer to other health specialists before or as well handing out drugs that suppress the symptoms. As in Medicine it is too easy to suppress the symptoms of apathy, avoidance, in our Christian lives with new easy initiatives. It is a form of microwave discipleship where it needs to be quick and easy. Apathy however appears to be frozen fear, whilst avoidance appears to be running away from fear. Both of these cannot be dealt with by easy solutions. Jesus constantly took his disciples to places of discomfort. Asking the disciples to feed the five thousand, or walk on water, this brought out psychological, emotional and spiritual responses to which Jesus ministered. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ who came to heal our broken hearts and the church.
