Inviting London
Why don’t Christians invite their friends in London? Well very early evidence is showing that the same reasons that I hear around the world such as, embarrassment, fear of rejection, having no friends to invite, lack of confidence in asking, don’t want to be seen as Jehovah Witnesses are very much in place. But one reason had us all thinking in the Q&A yesterday, ‘what do you do when you are surrounded by people of other faiths?’ The early church had a similar problem, because they were completely surrounded, by people of other faiths and none. Maybe as a start God’s invitation to us is to get to know our neighbours and for our neighbours to get to know us, whether they be of faith or no faith. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
