Compassion
The bible is replete with stories of the possibility of bible characters re-connecting with their true God -given identity. Because of the early experiences in their lives they had lost that connection. The story we follow in the gospels in the journey of the disciple we know best as Peter who changes his name from Simon which means reed to Cephas which means rock. Hotheaded Simon was like many people who can be stressed physiologically without knowing about it. In restoring Simon after he denied Jesus three times, Jesus taught us that the most important element is that we can help facilitate healing only when compassion is present. Compassion allowed Simon to see the truth. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
