Partnership
God loves people who argue with him. Some great examples in the Old Testament would be Abraham, Moses and Jeremiah. Even Jesus rewarded those who we are bold in their requests and broke the rules, like touching the hem of the garment, the Syrian woman who argued for her daughter. In the Old Testament there are 632 commandments it is inevitable that somewhere there must be the word to obey. But the Biblical Hebrew word often translated obey actual means to listen, to hear, to understand. This is not the command and control approach that we see of dictators. We are in partnership with God in the work of creation. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
