Asking Questions
I love the Quakers radical commitment to and dependence upon that of God in every person, the inner presence of the Holy Spirit. Now this might be controversial to some, but I happen to believe that God was working powerfully in my life before I ever made any form of commitment. The Quakers have something called a clearness committee where people can get in the middle of a group of Quakers, who just ask questions eliciting and evoking what people already know. Quaker tradition affirms to every individual a direct access to God’s guidance. Whilst at the same time in community a sifting and winnowing of that which they are hearing. Invite someone through asking questions to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
