Tolerating Paradox
Heroism and heroinism can be redefined in our modern age as the ability to tolerate paradox. It is to hold the tension between competing ideas and beliefs inside of you at the same time and still be able to function. It is the possibility in inviting our friends of the yes and the no, the faith and the fear, our heart saying do it and our head saying don’t be so stupid! If we can hold these competing emotions they can educate us. As Paul says I glory in suffering because suffering produces… We have to have an attitude of, on way hand give it everything we have, and on the other hand to surrender to the way it is. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
