Outcome Obsessive
We are in a society that is obsessed with effectiveness and outcomes and getting results. Efficiency is attached to that. I am not against effectiveness but I am clear that the tighter we cling to the norm of effectiveness the smaller and smaller tasks were going to take on, because they are the only ones that are going to be effective. In schools we are no longer interested in educating a child, we are interested in getting the child to pass a test, because that’s a task in which we can be effective and get measurable results. There has to be a standard to trump outcome madness and I believe that is faithfulness. Jesus says well done good and faithful servant, not effective servant. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
