The negative bias
Is the fear we have in proportion in reality? I would suggest that with all the stress and fear around we are getting it terribly wrong. Psychologists call it a negative bias, we tend to default to the negative side of a possibility. Psychologists call the solution to this problem in our thinking, cognitive reappraisal. By doing this they suggest it would help us move towards the fear. So how about this for some cognitive reappraisal? With God for us who can be against us? Or as the writer of Hebrews says, So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church
