Risky?
Dan Gardner a journalist wrote a book called Risk in which he suggested the things we are scared about are safe and the things we are not scared about are the most risky. Ten of the twelve spies were scared of taking the land of Canaan, but they were not scared about not taking the risk, and the consequences were that their generation missed out on their destiny. When God calls us to do something our first sense can be a fearful one, but are there consequences of not answering the call of God? There is a pretty big gap between actual and perceived risk. The bible calls it the fear of man versus the fear of the LORD. God wanted the best for the children of Israel. But the best is often on the other side of fear. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
