Hiding your talents
The gospel of Matthew tells the story of the Master who went on a journey and entrusted three servants with his wealth, but when the Master returns he calls in his servants. “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground.’ So why did the man not use the talent? – fear. God asks all of us to do things for him and we can make the excuse that we have not go the talent of others. I am not an evangelist some say, I wouldn’t know what to say others say. But if our Master entrusts us with a task should we not follow through? Stop hiding today and face your fear and ask God for your task and maybe God is asking you to invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
