Inside Out
God works on a person from the inside out, but western society works on a person from the outside in. Our society would take people out of slum conditions. But God take the slums out of people and then the people take themselves out of the slums. The society would mold a person by changing their environment. God changes a person, who then change the environment. An example of this is found in an Old Testament story of the prophet Samuel going to anoint a new king of Israel But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
