Feel like doing mission?
One of the greatest lies of our generation, is that an action is only authentic if we feel like doing it. By not encouraging the leaning into discomfort we are stunting the growth of all believers. Before resurrection came the cross, and before the cross came Gethsemane. In Gethsemane, Jesus did not feel like doing mission, but in the end he took up the cross and obeyed. Jesus asks us to take up the cross and follow. As we do this by leaning into discomfort, we will develop perseverance, that will lead to character, which will produce hope. Resurrection follows the cross, but the cross comes first. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
