Burnt Out

As I talk to church leader’s about invitation as a missional tool I find sometimes leaders who are burnt out. Are we defining our lives by the success that other people define for us? Have we a willingness to work in obscurity of apparent failure? If so what is there to burn out about? We can practice patience and endurance. Being burnt out is often to do with ambition. We don’t see Paul or Jesus’s life as a failure because we see the whole picture. But in the context, it was a failure, (Paul in prison, Jesus on the cross with disciples nowhere to be seen), but they had the grace and acceptance of the mission they were working in. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
