What constitutes a stressor?

There are individual differences as to what constitutes a stressor. One person’s stress is another person’s excitement. They would pay to do it as their favourite hobby! We tend to perceive the event as being stressful when we have no control about what going on, no predictive information about the stressor, as to when it is coming, how bad it is going to be how long it will last, whether we have an outlet for the frustration caused by it, and whether we have any social support.

1. lack of control 2, lack of predictability 3, lack of outlets 4. and lack of social coping mechanisms

So here is how to begin to cope with a stressor

a. Tell the difference between big things and little things

b. If it is a big thing can you get some control over it

c. Be able to tell if outcome is good or bad

d. If so have you got some coping mechanism

Of course in Christianity we have incredibly coping mechanisms. For nothing is impossible in God, If God is for us who can be against us? Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
