Deceive ourselves
Can we pull the wool over our own eyes or do we see through our mind games? Psychologists have found that not only will many people happily lie to themselves if given a reason, but they will only look for evidence that confirms their comforting self-deception, and then totally believe in the lies they are telling themselves. The Bible has known this for some time. We deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church and how we can deal with the truth about ourselves.
