Pursuit

The mysterious paradox of Biblical faith is that whilst the writers of the Bible are pursuing God, God is pursuing man. This pursuit starts to reach a crescendo that first Christmas when he sends his son and the carol O Holy Night talks of the thrill of hope.

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
