Joy means getting to know disappointment
When God prompts us to do something often we respond in the negative. I have found that we have to work with negative thoughts. Take thought captive and make it obedient to Christ says the Bible. When we perceive something bad may happen or has happened. Pause. Get to know it. Instead of running away, don’t make yourself the victim. How we regard these moments is actually creating our future, react as a victim and that will be you future, a future of strengthening pre-existing fears. A good question to ask in these situations is, what is it that is causing me to react in the negative? This question interrupts the automatic habitual response. Experience the possibility of disappointment, face the trial and the tribulation, seek God’s presence, look for hope and you will reach the other side, where you might well experience joy. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
