Cross that bridge
“I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it,” is something we say in order to tell ourselves not to worry about a possible problem at the present moment but to certainly deal with it when it happens. In thinking about mission and invitation we do as a church worry about being asked a difficult question, or having the responsibility of helping someone in the Christian faith if they say yes, or dealing with rejection. But I would say don’t worry about the reaction to an invitation “cross that bridge” when it happens by walking hand in hand with God. For God says “I am with you” and so invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
