Invitational Discipline
The writer to the Hebrews says something to us modern Christians which might appear restrictive, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” In the discipline of mission as we use our invitational muscle we have to face the pain of rejection, but it does, if we do it often enough, produce right living and exposes our fears and as we face them it leads to peace. Invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
