Let your peace return
“If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.” These are the instructions given by Jesus as he sends the 12 disciples out on mission. What my research shows across western Christianity is that many of us have never got over the last person saying no to us. We have been disturbed by the experience. In other words our peace did not return to us. Fear has taken the place of peace. Let peace return to you by asking God is there someone else to invite and then if so, go and do it and if on this occasion you happen to get a no, then let your peace return to you and kick fear out.
