No formulas with God

With Joshua he has the children of Israel march around the city blowing trumpets for a week; on the seventh day he has them do it seven times and then give a shout. That formula never happens again. There’s Gideon and his army reduced from thirty-two thousand to three hundred. The plan of attack is torches and water pots. It also works well and the formula never happens again. You recall Jesus healing the blind, he never does it the same way twice. Our obsession with principles is that it removes any real conversation with God. What God wants is relationship, In Exodus we find the give and take between Moses and God. Then the Lord said to Moses, then Moses said to the Lord. God is for relationship and not formula therefore ask God who to invite and then invite that person to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
