Embracing Risk
John Eldredge in his book Wild at Heart says. ‘God rigged the world in such a way that it only works when we embrace risk as the theme of our lives, which is to say, only when we live by faith.’ God is inviting us like he did with Abraham to come out of Ur and journey with God. What if Abraham had said “I get a better retirement plan in Ur”! What if Moses had decided to not give up the benefits of living with Jethro? What if the Apostle Paul had concluded the life of a Pharisee allowed him to travel and see the world and so whilst not brilliant, it would do for him? Where would we be if God hadn’t taken the risk of creating us in the first place. Ask God who to invite and as he calls embrace the risk and invite that person to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
