Who qualifies for our invitation?
The working of the Christian mind is fascinating. We make judgments as to who is ready for an invitation and who is not, on our own qualifying criteria. Our friends have to pass subjective qualifying criteria! For example some friends don’t qualify for an invitation, because it seems as if they have their life in order, so why would they need Christ? Some don’t qualify for another invitation because we have asked them once and they said no. Whilst others are given some more leaway with a few failed invitations before we give up. Still others are just eliminated because they just wouldn’t fit in to our church. Does this sound familiar? It should do, it is a version of Formula One Grand Prix Motor Racing qualifying. invitation style, where you have to qualify to be in the race. Stop qualifying your friends and colleagues and as prompted by God invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
