Believing False Evidence

In my seminars I am dealing with false evidence all the time. When I ask the question why don’t we invite our friends? I get a number of statements that look real at first glance but in fact are false. For example I am not inviting them because they won’t like it! My answer is  until they have been how do you know? And if God is asking you to invite them, the question is to what must we invite them.

The old testament character Jacob believed false evidence when his sons brought back the blood stained coat of his son Joseph saying “surely he is dead”. I want to say we also like Jacob can be sincere, but sincerely wrong. Later when the brothers bring back news that Joseph is alive, it says the spirit of their father Jacob revived. So it looks like revival comes from believing and acting on the truth. Don’t believe the false evidence that the person will not be interested. Invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church and whatever the result of the invitation know that our God is with us.
