Understanding rejection in invitation

I have wondered why rejection is so raw for most of us and I have to come to the conclusion that our reaction to being rejected is a reflex. In the Commandments it says You shall love your neighbour as your love yourself, the clause “as yourself” correctly implies the love of self is innate. Every person senses instinctively the priceless nature of their own being, and reacts reflexively to preserve it against any threat. Our sense of rejection therefore is a sign of our preciousness! We know we are precious so when we feel rejected we can know that we are loved by God. Face the possibility of rejection today knowing you are loved by God and invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
