I sometimes find church leader’s and congregational members not only avoiding failure in invitation but also avoiding success. Not succeeding abates the fear of failure. I heard a church leader panic recently when he heard that numbers were up at an event at his church. He was heard to say that we will never be able to improve on that next year! A one time success called in that church leader’s mind for repeat performance success which just meant, that one has got more ways to lose, more ways to fail. This leads to opting for mediocrity and not embarking on new ventures. They are in limbo. Limbo is a state of imprisonment or confinement. If you are in limbo break out today and invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
