Invitational Schizophrenia

In invitation often the heart and the mind disagree fervently our rational side wants to invite a friend but the other part our emotional side says no chance, “I might lose that friend if I invite them”. Our emotional side tends to win these internal debates, this is our built in schizophrenia. We can sing how great our God is and then a few moments later “we are afraid that someone might reject us”!  We all suffer from it, but at least to be aware of it, is one step closer to inviting someone to take a closer look at Christ and His church.
