A culture of Invitation prevents burned bridges
I have often wondered why churches sometimes cut themselves off from society. They create a ghetto mentality and the people of the church believe they have very few friends outside of the fellowship. Then I researched how this happened to the Pharisees. Building on their fear of losing their faith the Pharisees adopted an agenda that burned bridges to the culture they were supposed to influence. They began to fear and eventually to despise the very people they were commissioned to reach. Now I am not sure we have gone as far as the Pharisees but the fact I constantly hear people in church say that they have no friends other than those who go to church is an issue to address. Invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church. Become invitational and you will start to build bridges out of the ghetto mentality.
