Invitation challenges our blind spot
In my seminars we talk about unknown unknowns. In other words the blind spots in our lives. At times those blind spots are across the whole church in a generation. This is why God has from time to time has to send his prophets to challenge the mutual pooling of ignorance. There is I believe an unspoken blind spot, which is “if they wanted to come to church, they would come”. In this blind spot God is at work. Hundreds of thousands of people have been accepting invitations yet we have convinced ourselves that few are interested in taking a closer look at Jesus. I yearn to mobilise more to invite. Let’s invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and His church.
