Invitation and Amazing Grace
There is a line in the hymn Amazing Grace which gives hope to all us fledgling inviters. “Twas grace that taught my heart to fear and grace my fears relieved.” It is clear the hymn writer believes that we need to be taught to fear well, but that only grace can give us the courage to fear as we should and grace goes on in the hymn to relieve our fears. I was taught that Grace means God’s riches at Christ’s Expense. Grace makes sure that fears will not rule us. Grace puts fear in its place. So access Grace and invite someone to day to take a closer look at Christ and His church.
