The Invitational Blitz
In mission we can get into an attitude of slow and steady. Our favourite image is that of the Tortoise and the Hare where we conclude that if we take it nice and slow we will win in the end. But I want to say that slow progress kills mission. Mission needs the velocity of a jumbo jet to get it off the ground, we need to give it full throttle, then when it is in the air you can level off . In the same way we need major burst of invitational activity. I want to see Invitational Blitz Day’s established in the church where we spend a day together as a congregation focusing on contacting, inviting and sharing. So get a group of people from your congregation and have an invitational blitz day so that you can ask more people to take a closer look at Christ and His church
