Examine your assumptions in Invitation

Serial Inviter’s are extremely assumptive when inviting people to church. They are genuinely shocked when people say no. What really? Their language is assuming. For the rest of us, we can be apologising the entire time during the invitation process. “I know you won’t want to go to church but do you?” My church is not that good, but we have a special service on Sunday, do you want to go?  We need to be assumptive  because Christianity holds the keys to the Universe and inviting to church is just the first step in discovery.  We need to be expectant. But serial inviter’s also know that people are joining them as well as coming to church. Come join me, is always their invitation. Serial Inviter’s know that they provide an emotional security blanket for their invited guest, in helping them take a closer look at Christ and His church.
