Moving a church to invite
A gardener knows that all you can do is plant your seed in the ground, water it and believe. Nothing but the grace of God can make it grow. Of course they need to protect the plant from pests, and slugs. For me, in the same ways as a gardener, planting the idea of invitation to the church world wide I envisioned the idea, and I will not stop believing. No matter how many people told me no, no matter the apathy, the critical comments, I continued to invite church leaders to participate in an invitation event. I believe we need as church leaders to narrow our focus, to one seed, to one idea, and make it work. Then that will give birth to all of the others. So my finding in this movement of invitation is, all you can do is plant the seed and water it, it is God himself that gives the increase. Only God can make the sunshine and bring the rain. So focus on watering on one area. Believe in and then protect invitation as a route to relationship with God.
