Tried Everything?
Are you a church that has tried everything? Very often people will say to me we tried a guest service it didn’t work! The gospels tell the story of the disciples having fished all night and caught nothing. Jesus came along and told them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat. In other words to fish in a different spot. I think one of the reasons we can have nets that are empty is that we are not connecting with Christ’s direction. I have found that God is doing far more outside the four walls of a church building than inside. Yet we cast our nets by praying more for God’s extraordinary intervention. I know of churches that Prayer Walk their community, but haven’t actually invited anyone! My experience of fuller nets is that until we are prepared to be rejected in invitation our nets will not be full.
