Invitation – Probably Won’t

To second guess someone is to attempt to anticipate or predict what they might be thinking. The word probably is an indicator of the second guess in use. In invitation we can say things like, my friend probably is busy, they probably are seeing their family on Sunday, they probably have things to do etc… At best we might be right at worst we are taking a wild guess, but in both cases we are doing the thinking for someone.

When we try to guess what will happen or what someone will do it implies being able to predict the thought process leading to such decision. What a world we would live in if we all second guess each others thought processes! But that’s what we can do in the areaof invitation. Why not invite our friends and see what they say? It will probably be one of the most helpful things you can do for them, probably!
