The risk of confrontation
Jesus’s primary concern is not our happiness, but our maturation and our development into the person God made us to be. Jesus took the risk of confrontation, sometimes it didn’t seem to work as when the rich young ruler walked away, or when many followers left him. Confrontation doesn’t sound nice, or feel right but there is a time to confront our friends and invite them to take a closer look at Christ (who is seeking our and their maturity) and his church.
