Optimism v Hope

Optimism is what happens when things are going well and you predict that they keep on going well, but hope is different. You can hope when there are no grounds for optimism at all – this is the hope that is really transforming, hope in adverse circumstances can be linked to the promises of God. Some of us who plant many invitations, are planting trees under whose shade we may never sit. We may never see the result of our invitational seed scattering, but there is always hope. What might look like a failure can be a blessing in disguise. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
