No smell of smoke
Three of my favorite people in the bible are Shadrach Meschach and Abednego. In Daniel 3 verse 14 the three men are refusing to bow down to the system that has been established. King Nebuchadnezzar has the men cast into fiery furnace. I love the fact that they had their minds made up to follow God, no matter what it cost. Despite following God the furnace is turned up 7 times hotter. Even when you have done the right thing it can get worse and you can still be thrown down into the furnace. The king then sees something strange, a fourth man is in there and he is completely astounded. four men loose when three of them had been bound. The binding came out loose when they went into the furnace. Sometimes we are bound and we don’t know it and God has to deal with it during the furnace of trouble. Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego are brought out and not a hair is singed and they didnt even smell of smoke. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
