Deliberate Faith Practice
I want to encourage some deliberate faith practice in churches that I work with on a consultancy basis. The specific goal is to become an invitational church . (I am describing an invitational church as one in which 50% of the congregation invite or have a deliberate God conversation with someone new once a month.)
This challenge to become invitational currently exceeds the skillset of western Christianity. Human beings generally don’t like doing things we can’t yet do. We will reluctantly go into that space unless urged to.
But once we do go into the space there we must be able to report what happened and receive feedback from another person in our congregation and then we must repeat the activity over the next months. Repetition repetition Repetition until it becomes second nature. Start to develop an invitational strategy and invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
