Year of the Lord’s Favour
Faith and fear seem to work off the same energy source. Alice Miller Swiss Psychologist says “anger stemming from early childhood is stored up in the unconscious, and since it basically represents a healthy, vital source of energy, an equal amount of energy must be expended in order to repress it.” Many people in our societies are carrying in their bodies forms of unacknowledged grief and Jesus promises a solution to the issue. Jesus one day goes into the Synagogue in Nazareth and finds a particular passage in Isaiah and reads this, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the favourable year of the Lord. Make this year favourable for someone and Invite them to take a closer look at Christ (who says be not afraid, and comes to free the captive) and his church.
