Suppressed Grief

I have been trying to explain the the power of the fear of rejection in the life of the Christian facing the possibility of mission. Rejection is the tip of a major problem. Rejection is the tip of unresolved issues of a person’s past. Catholic anthropologist Father Gerald A Arbuckle says “unarticulated grief is a powder keg waiting to be ignited into community destroying behaviour.” Ovid the first century Roman poet said “Suppressed grief suffocates.” ¬†Grief is stopping the progress of the gospel. Start to tackle your fear of rejection today by inviting someone to take a closer look at Christ and the church.
