Faith is a sound mind

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I have found that fear gives us a distorted mind. In my travels globally in western Christianity the common reasons that we don’t invite are from an unsound mind. For example just because one’s friend said no last year, doesn’t mean they are going to say no this year, and even if they do say no, if we are prompted by God to invite, what is it to us if they say no! Don’t be afraid, have faith and you will develop, power, love and a sound mind, and invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.

• “I suffer I don’t want my friend to suffer”
• my friend won’t want to go My friend said no to me last year /
• We have no non-church going friends
• “It’s the church leader’s job!”
• I was never invited I was born into the church
• What if it damages my friendship
• Our services and people are unpredictable
• I fear what the congregation will think of my friend is not ‘our’ type of people
• Reticence
• Religion is private
• I don’t want to be seen as strange
• I wouldn’t know what to say and they might ask something about my faith
