Nickels and Noses
As a church leader or church council, are you just counting nickels and noses? Or the ABC of church metrics attendance buildings and cash? Is that your form of mission, where all that counts is money and bums on seats? Why would God gives us people to guide when we are only concerned with numbers and finance? The people in our congregation are not numbers to be counted. We need to look at a measurement for spiritual formation. Here is a question we should begin to observe, “if the people in our church have moved on in their relationship with God over the past 12 months?” Once we start observing and encouraging the fruits of the spirit in the life of the church, then more people we invite will observe this themselves and become curious and stay. Invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church and help them find relationship with God.
