Invitation wounds named in a survey
In a survey of people who find it difficult to invite, I asked them to describe how a previous rejection made them feel? They said inadequate, ignorant, an attack on their ego, shook to the core, undermined, diminished and belittled. I had mistaken these before just for distorted truth, I was partially wrong. These are painful injuries of the soul and unless they are healed it will be difficult for people to move on. So one way of revealing the wounds is by becoming invitational, because thought the process you will begin to recognise your fears and underneath the fears it is my sense that you will find a wounding experience, that has never been resolved. Do yourself a favour and invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church for he heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.
