A sudden threshold
One of my favourite findings has been that fear is on either side of the church threshold. We are afraid to go and invite and people are afraid to come. It takes a brave person to walk into a church building on their own nowadays. What I have failed to appreciate is that the church threshold does not just appear at the entrance of a church building. It might appear at anytime as we suddenly find ourselves engaged in a God conversation. In fact the threshold is where fear resides. But God says don’t be afraid for I am with you. Invite someone today into a God-conversation to take a closer look at Christ and his church, and there in this sudden threshold you can find God’s presence.
