Do you limp in invitation?
In my ten years of studying invitation I have concluded that the goal of most Christians is to stay away from hardship and challenges. In fact I have found this goal within myself! I hate being rejected and try to minimise its effect on me. But I have discovered that God let’s bad things happen to good people because he wants to bless them. It seems that we are to be broken before we are made whole. Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones said “all Christians who have true joy also limp.” Yet we afraid of moving towards difficulties such as rejection, or criticism. But in God’s economy it seems we cannot lose in invitation. If we get a accepted invitation we are happy, if we get a rejected invitation God is blessing us! Invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
