Invitation to deep rest
God resting seems in many ways to be an invitation to a world that’s enamoured with work, with desperate concern about the meeting of needs, with the fear of being left behind financially. It is an invitation that encourages us to leave the things of this world (the six days) and enter the things of God typified by rest. The sabbath is a God-given invitation. Jesus said “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Invite someone to take closer look at Christ who offers peace and his church.
